Preparing Quilt Tops for Quilting: When preparing your quilt top please make sure excess threads are trimmed from the front of the quilt and all seams are secure. Loose threads can cause snags and uneven stitches and seams not sewn can get caught in the presser foot of the machine and rip the fabric. If there are rippled borders on your quilt I will use utmost care as I quilt, with your understanding that pleats or puckers may be impossible to avoid. Do not pin or baste your quilt top and backing together. Your quilt top should be squared and pressed.
Preparing Quilt Backs: Cut off selvage ends and stitch your quilt back with a ½” (recommended) seam allowance and press seams open. (Selvage distorts the quilt top). Your quilt back should be squared and pressed.
Please Note: Long-arm quilting, when not computerized, is a hand-guided process. Computerized perfection is not guaranteed nor is it an intrinsic part of the Long-arm quilting process.
